Position Title: Registered Nurse

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with quality nursing care. Our nursing care requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from a physical and a behavioral, social and technological standpoint.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Identifies critical situations involving a patient’s physical welfare and well-being.
  • • Assesses health status of the patient, acquiring vital signs and demonstrating knowledge of abnormal findings when dealing with a patient’s medical condition.
  • • Collects data from the patient, including chief complaints, symptom type and duration. Able to perform an accurate assessment and prepare the patient for an evaluation by the provider.
  • • Performs appropriate in-house lab testing as warranted. Knowledge of urinalysis, urine HCG, rapid strep, influenza, mono, Covid-19, and glucose testing.
  • • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patients.
  • • Administers medications, treatments and any other regimens prescribed by licensed health care providers.
  • • Practices proper methods of infection control and sterilization.
  • • Implements and executes provider’s orders for the welfare of the patient and evaluate patient’s response and the effectiveness of the care.
  • • Communicates discharge instructions and assesses patient understanding.
  • • Completes appropriate follow-up on lab/x-ray findings that were performed and those that are pending.
  • • Generates and maintains timely and accurate medical records.
  • • Maintains an independent area of practice with accountability for the quality of patient care.
  • • Maintains all nursing standards, rules and requirements governed by the State Board of Nursing.
  • • Takes responsibility for following the standards and nursing policies of Immediate Health Urgent Care Centers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • • Knowledge of Ohio Nursing Laws.
  • • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • • Advanced understanding of primary care nursing.
  • • Able to appropriately triage patients presenting to the Urgent Care facility.
  • • Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • • Basic computer skills
  • • Able to work well with others.
  • • Good oral and written communication skills.

Credentials and Experience:

  • • Registered nurse from an accredited school with a current Ohio nursing license
  • • Continued Education

Position Title: Medical Assistant

  • Job Description: Clinical
  • Exempt / Non-exempt: Non-exempt
  • Immediate Supervisor: Nursing Director

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to assist in patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, certified nurse practitioner, Physician’s Assistant, or physician. The medical assistant has appropriate training involving an entire curriculum ranging from medical office procedures, clinical skills, lab collection and processing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Obtains vital signs, the chief complaint, symptom type and duration, and assesses the appropriate procedure needs for that visit.
  • • Chart documentation of patient historical data, allergies, medications, pharmacy, medical and surgical history.
  • • Administers vaccines and medications as directed.
  • • Identifies critical situations involving a patient’s physical welfare and well-being.
  • • Performs in-house testing as warranted. Knowledge of urinalysis, urine HCG, rapid strep, influenza, mono, Covid-19, and glucose testing.
  • • Maintains proper stocking of medical supplies in patient exam rooms.
  • • Maintains privacy and confidentiality of all patients.
  • • Proper identification, cleaning and storing of equipment and instruments, use of the autoclave.
  • • Assists other staff members with additional tasks.
  • • Observes and reports any pertinent changes involving patient status.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • • Ability to work independently and work well with others.
  • • Good oral, written and computer communication skills.
  • • Ability to multi-task physically and mentally.

Credentials and Experience:

  • • Graduation from high school and an accredited Medical Assistant program or 3 years equivalence in medical background and experience.
  • • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
